Brazil's instant payment system has announced its expansion into Europe through a strategic partnership with Wipay and PagBrasil, well-established fintech companies in the EU. PagBrasil acts as a sub-acquirer for PIX.
▶️ This year, Brazilians in Spain 🇪🇸 and Portugal 🇵🇹 will be able to make payments with "PIX". A pilot program featuring QR code payments will be launched in vending machines at Barcelona airport.
▶️ The Netherlands 🇳🇱 could be the next region for international expansion.
▶️ In Latin America, PIX has already established a strong presence in Argentina 🇦🇷, Uruguay 🇺🇾, and Chile 🇨🇱.
