Uruguayan merchants now have access to a technology that allows Android mobile phones to be converted into POS terminals for contactless credit and debit card payments

➡️ The app can be installed on an NFC-supported smartphone, helping small business owners accept payments while saving on the maintenance of stationary terminals.

➡️ Currently, this technology has already been implemented in 60 markets worldwide, and in Latin American and Caribbean countries, it has enabled the launch of 280,000 mobile payment terminals.

➡️ In Uruguay, payments will be processed through the Totalnet platform — so far, the only Visa acquirer in the country, handling around 200 million transactions worth 6 billion USD annually.
