😈 Ukraine🇺🇦: online betting and slot enthusiasts choose offshore operators

55.4% of all gambling expenditure in the country goes to the illegal market segment. Its annual volume reaches UAH 60 billion (USD 1,332,169,200).

🔺 The study was commissioned by the civic association “Association of Ukrainian Gambling Operators.” The sample consisted of 800 Ukrainians aged 18–69 who had used gambling services in the previous 3 months.

🔺 The main economic reason for the illegal market’s appeal is that platforms pay out winnings in full without withholding taxes. This was cited by 22% of respondents.

🔺 Operational advantages of illegal operators:

✅ Faster payouts were cited by 46% of respondents

✅ Convenience (that is, the absence of regulatory procedures) — 45%

✅ Better bonuses — 33%

🔹 Users prefer mobile apps for slots and poker, while messaging apps are more commonly used to participate in poker and lotteries. The main consideration is fast and convenient access to games.

🔹 Sports betting continues to grow both in the number of players and in participation frequency. At the same time, online casinos and slots are seeing a decline in regular play: more users are gambling less than once a month.
