🧐Ukraine 🇺🇦: National Bank to implement new card transfer rules starting October 1
Starting October 1, senders will be able to see the recipient’s name before completing a transfer, regardless of the recipient’s bank. This measure will also apply to online payments.
➡️ The requirements for instant credit transfers have been revised: they must now be available at all times — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
➡️ The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) continues to assess the possibility of lifting card transfer limits, but for now, additional restrictions remain in effect. According to the regulator, banks must first demonstrate the ability to effectively identify high-risk customers — a condition that could, in practice, affect regular users as well.
➡️ Context: In 2024, individuals and businesses in Ukraine carried out more than 3.6 billion credit and debit card transactions.
