💣 Norway 🇳🇴: Vipps launches an app for iPhone, becoming Apple Pay's first direct rival

In July, under EU pressure, Apple was forced to open NFC technology, and the results will be seen starting on December 9, 2024. Vipps users in Norwegian stores will be able to make contactless payments with their iPhones.

👉 With the 'tap with Vipps' feature, Norwegians can now transfer money, pay for services, shop online and in physical stores, request loans and compensations, organize money collections, and more.

👉 Initially, the service will be available to customers of SpareBank 1, DNB, and another 40 local banks, though more institutions are expected to join soon.
