⚡️German🇩🇪 Sports Betting Association (DSWV) aims to implement changes to the gambling rules

After the organization acknowledged in 2023 that at least 5% (and possibly up to 50%) of the market belongs to illegal operators, the Germans sounded the alarm.

😮Preamble: according to DSWV data, in 2023 the number of bets fell by 5.4% compared to the figures for 2022. This is due to:

🔣 Marketing restrictions imposed by the State Treaty on Gambling, which has been in force in the country since 2021.

🔣 The ban on live betting... it is understandable that, under these circumstances, the user finds it more attractive to play on a non-licensed platform, but one that offers more options.

In summary, the total betting volume in 2023 reached 7.7 billion euros.

👀 In reality, the problem is: almost 30% of bets are placed with non-licensed suppliers in the European Union (EU), and almost 20% with unlicensed offshore suppliers. The association calls on the Joint State Gaming Authority (GGL) to review the current regulatory policy and opposes bans on gaming advertising.
