⚡️ Brazil🇧🇷: Banco do Brasil Expands Contactless Payments with Pix for All Individual Customers

Since February 24, all bank customers can use Pix by proximity, after nearly 5 months of testing. Note: Banco do Brasilis not the central bank, although the federal government owns 50% of its shares.

➡️ Android users can enable the feature from the bank’s app. To pay, they simply need to open the app, select Pix by proximity, authenticate the transaction with password or biometrics, and bring the phone close to the terminal.

➡️ For transactions up to 200 reais (34 USD), no password is required.

▶️ Banco do Brasil ensures the system has multiple security layers and anti-fraud mechanisms.
