😱 Are they coming back⁉️ Visa files trademarks in Russia🇷🇺

Visa has submitted a request to Rospatent to register two new trademarks across various classes of the International Classification of Goods and Services (NCL), including:

✅ Banking services;

✅ Financial management;

✅ Exchange of money and financial crypto assets;

✅ Remote banking services, debit and credit cards;

✅ Fund transfer in electronic settlement systems and using blockchain technology; electronic cryptocurrency transfer;

✅ Loyalty program management;

✅ Rental of cash registers;

✅ Financial analysis;

✅ Organizing fundraisers;

✅ Provision of loans, including mortgages and installment loans;

✅ Insurance and others.

🔣 In March 2022, Visa suspended its operations with Russian banks.

🔣 The company later reported that this decision led to losses of 35 billion rubles.

⚠️ Visa may be registering these trademarks to protect its intellectual property, especially given that there was a precedent: in March 2022, the non-commercial autonomous organization “Intellectual Property Market Support Agency” (ANO “APRIS”) from Kazan attempted to register the trademarks Visa and Mastercard with Rospatent.
