📢 Visa simplifies stablecoin payment settlement for merchants

Thanks to the indirect method used by Visa, merchants do not need to interact directly with stablecoins or cryptocurrencies if they choose not to, thereby reducing exposure to additional risks.

🔣 The new solution is based on a pilot program launched by Visa in October 2025.

🔣 Settlements will be executed through the Visa Direct network in real time. BVNK🇬🇧, a stablecoin infrastructure provider, will handle wallet and blockchain connectivity and carry out regulatory compliance checks.

🔣 Competitive landscape: other payment platforms, including Stripe and Shopify, have introduced comparable stablecoin settlement capabilities. However, Visa stands out due to its global reach, established network, and deep integration within the traditional payments ecosystem.

🔣 Market context: Visa currently processes over USD 4.5 billion annually in stablecoin transactions. Even so, this figure remains modest compared to Visa Direct, which handles close to USD 1.7 trillion in payments each year, highlighting the significant growth potential of stablecoin-based settlements.
