📢 Vietnam🇻🇳: Hanoi police launched criminal proceedings against an agency supporting illegal gambling operations

The company Super Thi Seo Media Services Co. Ltd. presented itself as a legitimate provider of SEO and web traffic acquisition services, but authorities allege that its actual business activities were closely tied to the promotion of illegal gambling platforms.

➡️ According to investigators, the company’s primary role was to improve the search engine rankings of illegal gambling websites and direct users to those platforms, rather than provide conventional digital marketing services to commercial clients.

➡️ As part of the investigation, authorities detained the company’s chief executive officer along with 17 managers and employees. In addition, 15 other individuals were placed under travel restrictions pending further proceedings. Police also seized approximately $268,000 in cash and cryptocurrency, froze a savings account containing $113,934, and confiscated 29 computers and 41 mobile phones.

➡️ Investigators determined that the owner operated 41 electronic wallets used to receive USDT payments. The company also reportedly paid employee salaries primarily in cash. According to police, this was intended to conceal financial trails and complicate law enforcement investigations.

➡️ Authorities estimate that, since the beginning of 2026, the company generated approximately $140,519 by promoting and increasing the online visibility of 22 gambling websites through search engines.

➡️ Context: land-based casinos are regulated in Vietnam, and sports betting was legalized in 2018. However, online gambling remains formally prohibited. Vietnam’s population stands at 102,300,000 people, while GDP per capita is approximately 4,806 USD.
