🚀 Ukraine🇺🇦: Zelensky signs law to combat "dropers"
The Law №11043 expands the powers of the National Bank and introduces new regulations for the banking sector. This reform was one of the IMF’s demands.
▶️ Key changes include the creation of a "money mule" or "droper" registry.
▶️ Banks, postal operators, and foreign payment institutions’ branches can now offer auxiliary and related financial services, such as instant transfers.
▶️ The law also allows credit cooperatives to attract loans in foreign currency from foreign donors.
▶️ The National Bank (NBU) gains the right to set requirements on the adequacy and calculations of the regulatory capital for non-banking payment service providers.
▶️Remote inspections have been implemented, and the fine has been increased (up to 5% of the transaction amount) for legal violations.
▶️ However, before the final vote, amendments proposing partial access to citizens' banking data by the national police were rejected.
