😱Ukraine🇺🇦: The country will create a registry of bank accounts and other “money hideouts” of citizens

This measure is a mandatory step for Ukraine to join the SEPA payments area.

The government approved the necessary package of initiatives back in April.

➡️ The registry will include:

👉details of bank accounts, safe deposit boxes, securities accounts, e-wallets, and other financial instruments;

👉information about account holders;

👉details of the institutions where the accounts were opened.

➡️The registry will not include:

👉account balances or transaction history;

👉the contents of safe deposit boxes.

➡️ Access to this data will not be public; it will only be available to competent authorities under a specialized regime.

➡️According to a recently signed Memorandum with the IMF, Ukraine is considering expanding the grounds for extrajudicial tax authority access to information about income in taxpayers’ accounts.
