⛔️ Ukraine 🇺🇦: Proposal to Dissolve the Gambling and Lottery Regulatory Commission and Impose Restrictions on Gambling Advertising

The Verkhovna Rada believes that the gambling industry harms both the army and the population.

➡️ The Finance, Tax, and Customs Policy Committee has approved, in its second reading, draft law №9256-д, titled "On the Modification of Certain Legislative Acts to Combat Gambling Addiction and Improve State Regulation of Gambling".

➡️ The draft law proposes the blocking of illegal websites, tightening requirements for operators, and establishing new grounds for revoking licenses, which will also apply to state lotteries.

➡️ Since 2020, the Gambling and Lottery Regulatory Commission (KRAIL) has been responsible for granting licenses to the gambling industry. It will now be dissolved, and its functions will be transferred to the Ministry of Digital Transformation and a new non-collegial organization (which has yet to be created).

➡️ Regarding advertising, the plan is to ban it, particularly in relation to speculations about the war and volunteer work, as well as to limit sponsorship of sporting events.
