😵Ukraine 🇺🇦: PlayCity steps up blocking of unlicensed gambling sites

Just two weeks ago, Ukraine’s renewed regulator launched its new system for tracking illegal websites. Since then, actions have already taken place…

▶️Via the PlayCity platform, authorities received 240 reports of violations, leading to the blocking of 145 websitesand 7 Instagram accounts linked to unlicensed gambling.

▶️However, part of the reports were rejected: some resources under monitoring operated via VPN or were not actually related to gambling.

▶️ How does the process work❓— Blocking can take up to 9 days. Once PlayCity issues a decision, the National Commission for the Regulation of Electronic Communications informs providers, who must then restrict access. If a provider fails to comply, users can file a complaint through the Tracking System.

▶️Additional note: beyond blocking, fines are also imposed. Recently, for breaching advertising regulations, the company Dev Ukraine was fined 600 minimum wages (USD 116,187).
