📣Ukraine 🇺🇦: Newly established regulator PlayCity blocks 824 illegal online casinos

According to the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the State was losing up to 10 billion hryvnias (239,355,800 USD) annually due to the black market in gambling, making the fight against illegal casinos one of the priorities of the PlayCity agency.

Among other objectives, the regulator aims to clean up the market from casinos with Russian ties.

What measures will be taken to achieve this❓

▶️Automation of the detection process for violators to minimize human factors and digitalize the sector. Citizens will be able to report illegal operators through the regulator’s website.

▶️Launch of a state online monitoring system, which will supervise the operation of legal casinos in real time.

▶️Upcoming update of the registry of people with restricted access to gambling. The new registry will be implemented on the Dія.Engine platform, complying with personal data protection regulations and offering expanded functions for operators.
