😱 Ukraine again🇺🇦: following compliance inspections, regulator PlayCity fined Slots U.A. more than USD 105,364
The fines were imposed for the following violations:
1️⃣ Allowing third parties to deposit funds into players’ accounts.
2️⃣ Failure to comply with a previous order requiring corrective measures to be taken.
➡️ The second point concerns the obligations of licensed gambling businesses to cooperate with the regulator and provide information upon request. In May this year, Slots U.A. failed to meet this obligation within the prescribed deadline and was fined USD 9,588…
➡️ …although this fine is negligible compared with the penalty for the first violation, since payment-related breaches carry harsher penalties.
➡️ Who’s who❓Slots UA is a licensed Ukrainian platform belonging to the King Group holding company. In August 2025, the company officially joined the United Nations Global Compact in Ukraine, committing to integrate sustainability principles and ESG policies into its business processes.
➡️ However, as we can see, this did not spare the company a significant penalty. In August 2026, the government approved a comprehensive national strategy to minimize the negative consequences of gambling and prevent and combat gambling addiction through 2035. PlayCity is now keen to demonstrate that its staff are earning their salaries, while the company being penalized turns out to be… who❓ That’s right: the nearest licensed operator. Unlicensed operators remain much harder to reach.
In short, the intention was to improve things, but the outcome was the same as always.
