🏦 The total global volume of payments made with crypto cards reached approximately 7.8 billion USD in May

At the same time, monthly payment volume increased by approximately 230% compared with the same period a year earlier.

✍️ According to analysts from The Kobeissi Letter, approximately 90% of crypto payments made through credit and debit cards are processed via Visa, largely due to partnerships with companies developing their own blockchain technologies. One example is Jupiter Global, a payments project launched by the same team behind the Jupiter exchange on the Solana network.

✍️ In 2026, adoption of crypto payment cards accelerated significantly as stablecoins became increasingly accessible as a means of payment for everyday spending. In January 2026, the exchange OKX launched a stablecoin-powered payment card on the Mastercard network for its European customers.

✍️ According to data from OKX, grocery purchases became the leading spending category, accounting for approximately 26% of all transactions made using OKX cards, while restaurants represented 18%.

✍️ Informational note: in March, Visa and Bridge, a fintech company owned by the payments company Stripe, announced plans to roll out stablecoin-linked payment cards across more than 100 countries.
