😎 The intrigue of the year: will Kraken 🇺🇸 launch its own blockchain?⁉️
Spoiler: yes. Kraken doesn’t want to be left behind by giants like Coinbase and Binance. The Ink testnet will be available for developers by the end of this year, although its own token will take a bit longer to arrive.

▶️ The blockchain will primarily be designed for decentralized applications, allowing users to trade, lend, or borrow crypto without intermediaries. In the long run, Ink plans to incorporate real assets and advanced lending solutions.

▶️ Ink will be an L2 layer network, built on the Optimism Superchain, allowing it to benefit from Ethereum’ssecurity, governance, and structure.

▶️ Initial phase: Kraken will initially serve as the sequencer for Ink, managing transactions on the network. Over time, this role will be decentralized and shared among multiple participants.

▶️ Noteworthy: Kraken continues to diversify within the crypto sector. Recently, the exchange introduced its own Wrapped Bitcoin (kBTC), which is interoperable across Ethereum and OP Mainnet networks.
