😱Tether intends to block sanctioned payments

Tether, the issuer of the world's most popular stablecoins, intends to block all USDT transactions by organizations and individuals that have been included in the sanctions list of the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Treasury Department (OFAC)🇺🇸.

🔣 The statement from the issuer of the world's most popular stablecoins came after Venezuela🇻🇪 announced its intention to use USDT as the primary method of cross-border export payments for the supply of crude oil and fuel oil to evade sanctions.

🔣 OFAC has required PDVSA's partners to stop all export payments in USD for the supply of oil products until May 31. It has also announced the freezing of dollar assets in PDVSA accounts in any foreign banks.

🔣 The CEO of Tether announced in December 2023 that the company he leads will continue its course of cooperation with authorities and law enforcement agencies around the world.
