🆘 Tether froze 1.49 billion USDT on the Tron network

The volume of frozen funds during the first half of the year has already exceeded the combined figures of the previous two years. The Tron network accounted for 98.3% of all frozen assets.

➡️ Experts attribute this trend to the blockchain’s strong popularity among USDT users, driven by its low transaction fees and high stablecoin circulation volumes. The asset-freezing process began in 2024, when a dedicated division called the T3 Financial Crime Unit (T3 FCU) was established.

➡️ The current increase in frozen assets coincides with stricter regulation in the United States🇺🇸, the United Kingdom🇬🇧 and the European Union.

➡️ Tether is increasingly adopting a preventive transaction-monitoring approach, freezing addresses considered suspicious before funds are withdrawn or transferred.

➡️ The average amount of funds per frozen wallet has increased nearly fourfold, rising from 228,000 USD to 833,000 USD. Freezing measures may affect any address considered by international regulators or compliance entities to be linked to high-risk or restricted counterparties.
