🎉Stripe and OpenAI launch instant checkout service directly inside ChatGPT

Users can now chat with AI and make purchases instantly. The partnership between Stripe and OpenAI, which began in 2023 with ChatGPT Plus subscription management, has evolved into a new AI-powered conversational commercemodel.

▶️The enhancement is built on the Agent Commerce Protocol (ACP), an open standard jointly developed by Stripeand OpenAI to help merchants seamlessly integrate into AI-driven environments.

▶️The payment system uses a Shared Payment Token (SPT) mechanism, allowing transactions to be processed without exposing buyer credentials. Merchants can also choose whether to process payments via Stripe or another provider.

▶️The feature is currently available only to users in the United States 🇺🇸.

▶️It will soon roll out across all Shopify stores—around one million merchants—including popular American brands such as Glossier, Vuori, Spanx, and SKIMS.
