💃Spain🇪🇸: In 2023, online gambling recorded the highest number of digital transactions.

The study was conducted by Spain's National Commission on Markets and Competition (CNMC).

➡️ Overall, e-commerce in Spain experienced significant growth: last year, the turnover increased by 16% and successfully reached 22.707 billion euros (24.526 billion USD).

➡️ In terms of revenue by sector, travel agencies and tour operators lead with 8.5% of the total turnover, clothing sales follow in 2nd place with 7.3%, air transport is in 3rd place with 5.5% (airline tickets are high-risk... just a reminder!), and the gambling industry is in 4th place with 4.2%.

➡️ Within the gambling segment, over 432 million transactions using digital wallets were recorded in the fourth quarter of last year, making a 15.1% increase compared to previous periods.

➡️ Interestingly in the digital segment of e-commerce, gambling, and sports betting topped the list of online sales and purchases, accounting for 6.9% of the total.
