“🇧🇷SPA clarifies: 🎲Virtual “Jogo do Bicho (Animal game) is 👎forbidden!

⚠️ The Secretariat of Prizes and Betting of the Ministry of Finance (SPA-MF) published a technical note on December 11, establishing that betting houses cannot offer the Animal Game in online format.

📜 What does the note say?
The document establishes that:

🔵 The Animal Game, even though similar to lotteries, is classified as a criminal misdemeanor in Brazil and, consequently, prohibited as a lottery modality.

🔵 Fixed-odds betting houses (regulated by Laws No. 13,756/2018 and No. 14,790/2023) cannot offer digital versionsbased on the Animal Game, regardless of compliance with technical requirements for online games.

🔵 Certification entities are prohibited from certifying games that include the name or characteristics of the Animal Game, including those certified prior to the note.
