The ban will last for 6 years, officially justified by potential electricity shortages.

⏩ Affected regions include the annexed territories (DNR, LNR, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia) and the North Caucasus.

⏩ During electricity consumption peaks, mining will also be temporarily restricted in parts of the Irkutsk region, Buryatia, and the Zabaykalsky Krai.

⏩ Key data: According to the Ministry of Energy, miners' electricity consumption in Russia reached 1.5 GW in 2023, with the Siberian Federal District (SFD) leading energy demand.
