📣Russia🇷🇺: In the first quarter, citizens doubled the frequency of payments using biometrics and QR codes

In total, 800 million of these operations were carried out in the country, amounting to 1.1 trillion rubles.

➡️ At the same time, the overall number of cashless transactions—including QR codes, biometrics, e-wallets, and other transfer services—increased by almost 33% year-on-year in the January–March period, reaching 11 billion operations.

➡️The number of POS terminals grew by nearly 10% during that period, reaching 4.9 million.

👉Bank cards continue to be the main payment instrument. From January to March, 14.9 billion card transactions were made, totaling 13.6 trillion rubles.

While it is not currently possible to reduce acquiring costs, the strong growth in electronic payment methods highlights an ongoing shift in consumer behavior.
