⚡️Paraguay🇵🇾: the Central Bank plans to introduce a unified QR code

The Infonet Network, operated by Bancard, has launched a pilot program featuring QR technology. This initiative involves 50 participating stores that will display QR codes at their checkout counters.

➡️ The QR payment option is now also available in the Pago Móvil app.

➡️ The service extends to large, medium, and small businesses. For those who are already users of the Infonet network, it will be free.

➡️ Merchants interested in joining the pilot project can easily sign up through the free Infonet website, where they can generate both printed and digital QR codes.

➡️ Context: Paraguay has its own Instant Payments System (SIP) — the National Payments System (Sipap). Last year, the transaction volume through Sipap was 240% of GDP, and in 2024, according to Central Bank estimates, this figure is expected to be surpassed in 2024.

Paraguay, small but powerful.
