NBU🇺🇦 Will Temporarily Restrict Card-to-Card Transfers
The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) believes that limiting P2P transfers for individuals will help prevent the misuse of the payment infrastructure for illicit activities. According to the regulator's analysis, nearly 200 billion UAH (4.86 billion USD) could be moved annually through the cards of so-called "drops."
➡️ The restriction applies only to outgoing transfers from all accounts of a customer, opened in the same bank, to the accounts of other individuals.
➡️ The maximum amount that can be transferred will be 150,000 UAH (3,643.5 USD) per month.
➡️ This limit will be in effect for a period of six months.
➡️ The restrictions will not apply to:
• Voluntary accounts identified by the banks;
• Individuals whose verified monthly income exceeds the amount set by the restriction;
• Transfers of funds between a customer's own accounts within the same bank;
• Transfers by legal entities. Operations via IBAN will not be restricted.
