Advanced Kazakh parliamentarians are ready to recognize the obvious and take control of the digital asset market in the country. The project participants could include the National Bank and smaller financial organizations that are already adopting digital asset tools.

▶️ Context: Currently, the use of digital assets is prohibited by law in Kazakhstan. As a result, around 90% of all cryptocurrency transactions in the country are conducted outside the legal framework, causing losses for the government.

▶️ It is proposed that the cryptobank would operate similarly to other financial institutions. However, its mission would not only include supporting cryptocurrency transactions but also attracting investment in digital technologies.

▶️ The new structure could be tasked with developing effective tools for cryptocurrency mining and exchange, as well as integrating these assets into the existing financial system.

▶️ Deputy Ekaterina Smyshlyaeva, who proposed the idea of a digital code in 2024, insists on the need to decriminalize the use of unsupported digital assets for individuals, as long as they are used on licensed platforms.
