👀Morocco🇲🇦: Revolut applies for a limited license from the Central Bank to operate in the country

The UK-Lithuanian fintech has already started recruiting staff in Morocco.

▶️Why a “limited” license? Because Revolut plans to establish itself gradually in the Moroccan market: starting as a payment operator and, within two years of launch, seeking to obtain a full banking license.

The Moroccan diaspora abroad, estimated at over 5 million people, represents a major remittance corridor that Revolut is keen to capture.

▶️Contextual note: Morocco is a semi-constitutional monarchy, where the king retains executive powers. Population: 37,112,080. GDP per capita: USD 4,203.
