🏴☠️MoneyGram confirmed a data breach following a cyberattack
The attack occurred on September 22, and only now the company issued an official statement about it.
▶️ The cyberattack, whose type remains unknown, caused a week-long outage that took the company's website and app offline.
▶️ MoneyGram has not revealed how many customers may have been affected.
▶️ The stolen data includes names, phone numbers, mailing and email addresses, dates of birth, and national identification numbers. Additionally, a "limited amount" of social security numbers, driver’s licenses, utility bills, and bank account numbers were compromised.
▶️ …And that’s not all❗️MoneyGram also confirmed that the stolen data included transaction dates and amounts, and “for a limited number of consumers” — "information related to criminal investigations (such as fraud)”.
