🎉  Lithuania🇱🇹: in the first half of 2026 the gambling industry recorded significant revenue growth

According to data from the Gambling Supervision Authority, total gross gambling revenue from both land-based and online operations reached approximately EUR 153.6 million. This represents an increase of 16.8% compared with the same period last year and confirms the importance of digital gambling for the country's regulated market.

🟡 Gambling: looking specifically at the online segment, its revenue accounted for 78% of the total, with growth of 13.5%. These figures demonstrate the significant shift in consumer activity toward digital channels. Gambling in Lithuania has been permitted remotely since 2016.

🟡 Land-based casinos and betting shops: gross revenue from physical establishments during the first half of the year amounted to approximately EUR 33.7 million. Compared with the same period in 2025, this represents a decline of approximately 5%.

🟡 Lotteries: ticket sales increased by 8.6%, reaching approximately EUR 87.73 million, while prize payouts rose 10.5% to EUR 49.29 million. Gross lottery revenue reached approximately EUR 38.44 million, up 6.2% compared with the first half of 2025. The figures suggest that, despite the continued growth of online gambling, demand for lotteries remained relatively stable.

🟡 State revenue: during the first six months of 2026, tax revenue from gambling and lotteries increased by 11.4%, reaching approximately EUR 46.43 million.

🟡 Operator revenue: gambling organizers accounted for approximately EUR 30.67 million in revenue, while lottery operators received approximately EUR 15.76 million.

🟡 Regulation: in June 2026, the Ministry of Finance proposed amendments to gambling legislation providing for the introduction of a mandatory player card. The amendment was approved, and from January 1, 2029, the system will apply to both land-based and remote gambling establishments, creating a centralized mechanism for recording gambling activity across different operators and channels. This will enable the centralized registration of deposits and winnings, while companies will have three years to prepare their systems for the new requirements.
