Kyrgyzstan's 🇰🇬 banks suspend service of "Mir" 🇷🇺 cards.
Following the steps of Armenia🇦🇲 and Kazakhstan's "Freedom Finance"🇰🇿, Kyrgyzstan has withdrawn from collaboration with NSPK.
💳 The "Mir" cards have been in operation in Kyrgyzstan since 2019 as part of the integration of two payment systems: the Russian "Mir" and the Kyrgyz "Elkart", which includes 21 banks.
💳 Kyrgyzstan's decision to end the collaboration stemmed from the threat of secondary sanctions, announced by the U.S.🇺🇸 as early as September 2022.
💳 Starting from April 3rd, "Mir" cardholders in Kyrgyzstan will no longer be able to:
⛔️ Make payments with their cards at POS terminals.
⛔️ Withdraw cash at ATMs.
⛔️ Carry out card-to-card transfers.
⛔️ Make online payments from the card to the account.
💳 However, the possibility of money transfers between Kyrgyzstan and Russian banks will remain.
