The clever card has Bluetooth and is powered by the Internet of Things (IoT). Samsung Electronics, in collaboration with KB Kookmin Card and American Express, agreed to develop a smart device with these features back in September 2023. The product is now ready and will initially be launched in South Korea.

➡️ The Smart Things Find application stores a record of the card's (or rather its owner's) movements over the last 7 days.

➡️ Thanks to the integration of BLE technology, the card boasts low power consumption. It needs a wireless recharge once a month.

➡️ If a linked device is too far away from the card (e.g. you forget it in a restaurant), the app will send you a notification.

➡️ Potential risks: data security during transfer between card and phone for example, risk of cloning, compatibility with different operating systems.

So, it's not all sugar-coated.
