⛔️ Kazakhstan🇰🇿: AIFC court bans 6 unlicensed crypto platforms

The order to restrict access to the applications was sent to Google Play and the App Store.

➡️ For providing digital asset-related services without a license, the court of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) banned 7 cryptocurrency platforms: BingX, Bitcoin.com, Huobi Global (HTX), BitMart, Coinbase, LBank and WEEX. Subsequently, LBank voluntarily blocked access to its services in Kazakhstan, prompting the court to remove it from the list. As a result, six cryptocurrency platforms remain subject to the ban.

➡️ The court ruling also applies to the operators of the Google Play and App Store app marketplaces, which are required to restrict access to the platforms. The order has been sent, but no results have been reported yet.

➡️ The regulator began tightening oversight in 2025, when more than 20 platforms received warnings explaining the AIFC's regulatory framework. In early 2026, lawsuits were filed against those that ignored the warnings. 9 cryptocurrency platforms voluntarily blocked their services, while another 7 expressed their intention to obtain a license. Stating an intention does not guarantee results. So far, there has been no progress on this front either.

⬇️ Context: Kazakhstan aims to become a regional crypto hub. To achieve this, in September 2026 it signed three framework agreements with Binance, including one involving the AIFC, to establish a transparent, regulated and technologically advanced environment.
