🙈Indonesia 🇮🇩: regulator’s digital crackdown targets gambling-related content

The Ministry of Communications and Digital Technologies of Indonesia (Komdigi) has intensified enforcement.

▶️Between October 20, 2024, and September 16, 2025, more than 2.8 million online posts related to gambling were removed. Of these, 2.1 million were linked to illegal gambling activities.

▶️Content removal details:
On websites, approximately 1.9 million items were taken down.
On platforms and social networks, the actions affected:
Meta: 94,004 posts
Google: 35,092 posts
X: 17,417 posts
Telegram: 1,742 posts

▶️Citizens are encouraged to act responsibly and notify authorities about harmful online content.

▶️Additional note: since late 2024, Komdigi has been testing a new Content Moderation Compliance System (SAMAN), designed to ensure that platforms comply with Indonesian law and are held accountable for their content.
