By early 2027, India's popular Unified Payments Interface (UPI) could become the model for implementing similar payment systems in at least 20 countries.

➖ Geopolitics in Action: Developing countries that are joining these agreements emphasize the significance of “digital sovereignty,” with the potential to disengage from global systems in the event of sanctions. Simultaneously, India is perceived as a "benign and non-hegemonic power".
