👻Greece🇬🇷: cryptocurrency exchange Binance submitted a license application to the local regulator

The move is intended to enable the company, once the relevant regulatory framework comes into force (expected later this year), to operate legally across the entire European Union.

🔣 The institution currently engaging with Binance is the Hellenic Capital Market Commission (HCMC), the supervisory authority responsible for securities markets and cryptoassets.

🔣 Background information: prior to approaching the HCMC, Binance entered the Greek market through Binary Greece, a holding company established to manage regional equity stakes, whose corporate charter includes the provision of services related to financial advisory activities.

🔣 At the initiative of the Greek Ministry of Finance, Binance’s application is being processed under an accelerated procedure. International professional services firms such as PwC, Deloitte, and KPMG have been engaged to support the licensing process.
