Europe imposes (supposedly temporary) restrictions on UnionPay cards from Rosselkhozbank🇷🇺
Although Rosselkhozbank was added to the European Union's sanctions list in June 2022, it is not among the 22 bankstargeted in the recently approved 18th sanctions package.

Nevertheless, the measure was implemented in the context of ongoing geopolitical tensions.

▶️The restrictions apply in 27 EU countries: Austria🇦🇹, Belgium🇧🇪, Bulgaria🇧🇬, Hungary🇭🇺, Germany🇩🇪, Greece🇬🇷, Denmark🇩🇰, Ireland🇮🇪, Spain🇪🇸, Italy🇮🇹, Cyprus, Latvia🇱🇻, Lithuania🇱🇹, Luxembourg🇱🇺, Malta🇲🇹, Netherlands🇳🇱, Poland🇵🇱, Portugal🇵🇹, Romania🇷🇴, Slovakia🇸🇰, Slovenia🇸🇮, Finland🇫🇮, France🇫🇷, Croatia, Czech Republic🇨🇿, Sweden🇸🇪 and Estonia🇪🇪.

▶️ Currently, UnionPay cards issued by Rosselkhozbank remain operational in: Azerbaijan🇦🇿, Bangladesh🇧🇩, Vietnam🇻🇳, Egypt🇪🇬, Indonesia, Qatar🇶🇦, China🇨🇳, Malaysia🇲🇾, Serbia🇷🇸, UAE🇦🇪, Saudi Arabia🇸🇦, Singapore🇸🇬, Thailand🇹🇭, Turkey🇹🇷, Uzbekistan🇺🇿, Philippines🇵🇭, Sri Lanka🇱🇰, South Korea🇰🇷 and Maldives🇲🇻.

▶️ Relevant fact: previously, more than 10 Russian financial institutions issued UnionPay cards. Following U.S. sanctions🇺🇸, currently only two Russian banks continue to issue them: Rosselkhozbank and the Asia-Pacific Bank (ATB).
