The issuer of the market's most popular stablecoin has formed a partnership with the team behind Celo's first level (L1) solution. However, the specific launch date for the integration has not been specified.

Benefits:

🟢 USDT will be used on Celo as a currency to pay for the gas (another token that the network uses). As mentioned in the press release, this will allow simplifying transactions and improving the efficiency of decentralized applications (dApps).

🟢 The partnership will enhance the availability of USDT on mobile devices and in developing countries (for example, in the ecosystem there is a cryptocurrency wallet for residents of Kenya 🇰🇪 and Ghana🇬🇭, integrated into the Opera browser).

At the moment, the USDT stablecoin is available on 16 networks, including Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), and Polygon (MATIC). Regarding the Celo network, it was founded in 2017 by Rene Reinsberg and Marek Olszewski, who were leaders at the web hosting company GoDaddy, alongside Sep Kamvar and Marek Olszewski, a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a leader at Google.
