🎉 Digital bank Lunar🇩🇰 becomes the first EU provider to obtain a crypto license under MiCA regulation

The CASP license allows the bank to provide cross-border crypto services across all 27 EU member states.

➡️ Background: in 2022, Lunar launched its integrated crypto platform, Lunar Block, enabling users in Denmark🇩🇰, Sweden🇸🇪, and Norway🇳🇴 to buy and sell cryptocurrencies directly within the banking app. The service is fully connected to Lunar’s financial infrastructure, including standard deposit accounts, payment cards, and corporate banking tools.

➡️ How it works: the minimum transaction amount is 10 Danish kroner, with pricing determined by trading volumerather than subscription tiers.

➡️ Expansion: the new MiCA license replaces Lunar’s previous registration with the Danish financial authority Finanstilsynet, allowing the bank to expand its crypto services without needing separate authorizations in other EU countries.

➡️ Notably, Lunar has outpaced Revolut, which—despite its larger scale and global presence—is still in the application process.
