🆘 Crypto exchange KuCoin🇻🇬 is ending services for customers in Russia🇷🇺 and Belarus🇧🇾
It is the fourth platform to take this step, as previously anticipated.
🥺 The exchange will stop offering products and services to Russian and Belarusian citizens starting October 29, 2026, citing the “need to comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.” Affected users will receive individual notifications specifying deadlines and instructions for withdrawing their assets. No action is required before these notifications arrive.
🥺 Background: KuCoin ranks eighth in the CoinMarketCap exchange rankings, with a transaction volume of approximately USD 1.4 billion. The platform was founded in 2017 in China🇨🇳 before relocating to Singapore🇸🇬 amid pressure from Chinese authorities. Its headquarters are currently in Seychelles🇸🇨, and the exchange is registered in the British Virgin Islands🇻🇬. In 2025, KuCoin received authorization to operate in the EU🇪🇺 as a crypto-asset service provider under MiCA. The platform does not operate in the United States🇺🇸.
🥺 KuCoin, as experts had predicted, added Russia to its list of prohibited jurisdictions immediately after HTX, becoming the fourth platform to prioritize compliance with international sanctions over revenue from Russian customers. Previously, Bitget and MEXC had also announced that they would cease serving customers in Russia and Belarus. Gate, OKX, and possibly Bybit may follow suit. Bybit could be particularly affected if it withdraws from the Russian market.
