It should be noted that four months ago, following actions initiated by Polla, online gambling in Chile was declared illegal. Subsequently, the Supreme Court ordered six of the largest telecommunications providers to block online betting and casino websites.

🔵 However, Polla Chilena considered these measures insufficient and has now directed legal action against payment platforms allegedly cooperating with the gambling sector: ALPS, Nuvei, Pronto Paga, Kushki, PagaDoor, and Khipu. A criminal complaint has been filed against these companies.

🔵 In the complaint, the payment service providers are described as “illegal bankers” of betting operators, within an allegation concerning the management of illicit financial flows. A cited study indicates that the volume of the illegal market in 2024 reached 3.1 billion USD, involving 5 million Chilean citizens.

🔵 It has been confirmed that the lawsuit was declared “admissible”, allowing the case to be forwarded to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the initiation of a criminal investigation.
