☠️ By 2027, the EU will ban anonymous crypto accounts and privacy-focused tokens

Monero, Zcash, and Dash are under threat from new AML regulations designed to strengthen financial system protections — potentially at the expense of one of crypto’s core principles: privacy.

🌟 Article 79 of AMLR sets strict prohibitions on anonymous accounts, stating that “it is prohibited for banks, financial institutions, and crypto service providers to have anonymous accounts”, according to the Anti-Money Laundering Guide published by the European Crypto Initiative (EUCI).

🌟 Mandatory customer verification will also apply for transactions over 1,000 euros (approximately 1,100 USD).

🌟 Regulatory frameworks (AMLR, AMLD, and AMLAR) have already been formally approved, although technical details are still being finalized. The European crypto ecosystem is closely watching developments.

🌟 Context: The EU is tightening control over crypto service providers. Those with more than 20,000 clients or managing more than 56 million USD in transactions will be under direct regulator supervision.
