🎉 Brazil🇧🇷: The "black market" for betting continues to grow in numbers and facts

Although Law No. 14,790 on regulation has recently come into effect, this has not stopped the illegal market from continuing to expand.

➡️ While official figures are lacking, experts estimate that the illegal market in Brazil represents nearly 40% of the gaming industry. This is less than in Germany🇩🇪, where the illegal market accounts for 49%, but significantly more than in the United Kingdom🇬🇧 (13%), despite the UK market being one of the most structured in the betting world.

➡️ Last year, 70 million illegal accesses to unregulated or banned websites were recorded.

➡️ This figure is the result of the "ban and block" strategy. However, despite regulators' efforts, no effective solution has been found, either in Europe or Latin America. Meanwhile, the inability to make transactions on illegal sites or, for example, the ban on advertising on sports club shirts has pushed many bettors to open accounts abroad.

➡️ In the short term, Brazil's National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) plans to implement all available technologies to block VPN usage.
