😱Brazil🇧🇷: Starting in October, the Ministry of Finance will prohibit the operations of betting sites without special authorization

It was predictable. According to the official decree, during the "adaptation period" (the Betting Regulation Law will fully come into effect on January 1, 2025 — editor's note), only operators who have applied for a license from the Secretariat of Prizes and Bets will be allowed to operate.

🔠 Players who have placed bets on unauthorized platforms will be able to recover their deposits until October 10 of this year.

🔠 By December, the Treasury must have completed the review of the first applications received.

🔠 To start operating, approved companies will need to pay a fee of 30 million reais (approximately 5,437,980 USD), and starting in January, they must comply with all regulations regarding fraud prevention, anti-money laundering, and misleading advertising, among others.

🔠 Starting January 1, 2025, betting operations will be conducted exclusively on Brazilian internet domains with the extension “bet.br”.
