📢 Brazil🇧🇷: Senate proposes USD 35 monthly limit on online betting deposits

The amount would apply cumulatively to all deposits made by a player across different platforms, regardless of the purpose. Winnings and amounts returned to the player would not be included in the calculation.

🟢 The proposal, introduced by a senator from the Workers' Party, would amend Law No. 14,790/2023.

🟢 According to the senator, the USD 35 limit is equivalent to approximately 5% of the current minimum wage. To make deposits above this amount, players would have to demonstrate sufficient financial capacity.

🟢 Under the proposed amendment, if a deposit exceeds the permitted amount — which would also be adjusted for inflation — the betting operator would be required to immediately return the excess funds.

🟢 If approved by the National Congress and enacted into law, the new rules would take effect 90 days after the law is published.
