💪Brazil🇧🇷: Pix launches contactless payments for Google Wallet users

With the integration of "Pix by Proximity", the Brazilian fintech giant aims to lead the e-commerce sector by 2025, surpassing credit cards.

How does it work❓

➡️ Users of the new service can select which Google Wallet-linked account they want to use for transactions with Pix.

➡️ Payment confirmation is done through biometric authentication, and a transaction notification is sent to the mobile phone or an ATM.

➡️ In addition to contactless payments, Pix and Google are working on introducing a “Pay with GPay” button in e-commerce apps.

➡️ What about security❓
The Central Bank of Brazil, which oversees Pix, will introduce several anti-fraud measures, such as:
Transaction limits for purchases made from unregistered devices.
A “Night Mode”, which will block transfers from personal accounts to unidentified recipients between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.

➡️ Availability
For now, this service will only be available for Android users in 2024.
