💯Brazil 🇧🇷: number of citizens placing online bets rose by 12% in one year

These figures come from a survey conducted by the research firm PoderData between September 27 and 29, 2025. The study included 2,500 phone interviews across 178 municipalities in all 27 Brazilian states.

▶️Between October 2024 and September 2025, about 56.1 million people placed a bet at least once — equivalent to 36% of the population aged 16 or older.

▶️61% of respondents said they do not gamble, compared with 73% a year earlier, while 2% declined to answer.

▶️The most active betting demographic consists of men aged 16 to 24 with basic education.

▶️Interestingly, a higher share of Evangelicals reported having gambled (41%) than Catholics (34%).
