🤩 Binance: between service expansion and security concerns

While the platform expands its euro deposit options through Apple Pay and Google Pay, it also faces scrutiny over the security of its users’ data.

▶️ At the end of March, a database allegedly containing 132,744 records with emails and passwords linked to Binanceappeared for sale on the dark web, posted by a user with the alias kiki88888. At the same time, a separate breach involving 100,000 Gemini user records was also reported.

▶️ Binance denied that its infrastructure was compromised. According to the company, the leaked data may have been obtained via unauthorized access to users’ personal devices, rather than through a direct attack on the platform. However, a similar case occurred in September 2024, when it was claimed that 12.8 million accounts had been compromised. Binance also denied that incident after an internal investigation.

▶️ Regarding service improvements, on March 27, users gained the ability to make euro deposits using credit and debit cards, with Apple Pay and Google Pay integration on both the website and the mobile apps (Lite and Pro).
