📢 Belgium🇧🇪: with the support of local banks and companies, Wero — the European mobile payment system — launches online payments

In Belgium, this functionality complements invoice payments and peer-to-peer transfers.

➡️ Banking groups ING, KBC and BNP Paribas Fortis became the first investors to support the online rollout of the Wero wallet.

➡️ In the coming weeks, the banking and insurance company Belfius will join them, and in the second half of 2026 a phased integration with other banks will begin, including Argenta, Bank Van Breda, Beobank, Bunq, Crelan, Keytrade Bank, Nagelmackers, Revolut and vdk bank.

➡️ Among the merchants that have expressed their intention to activate Wero are companies such as Ahold Delhaize, Bpost, Just Russel, LIDL, Pairi Daiza, Parfum Dreams. They are expected to be joined by Air Europa, Decathlon, Dott, Eventim and Veepee, which already supported Wero at the time of the system’s launch in Germany🇩🇪.

➡️ Among the main acquirers and partners involved are Worldline, Buckaroo, Doccle, POM, Mollie and Stripe.

➡️ Informational note: in 2026, Wero will also expand to three additional e-commerce markets — France🇫🇷, Luxembourg🇱🇺 and the Netherlands🇳🇱, where the transition to the Wero-based iDEAL solution has recently begun.
